About Anya

Are We A Good Fit?

I’m Anya, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in Ventura, California. My approach is warm, collaborative, and curious with a sprinkle of directness every once in a while. I want therapy to be a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and explore what matters to you without pressure to have everything figured out.

My previous work included early childhood intervention, supporting families, and working with individuals and couples who felt overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in patterns they wanted to change. These experiences deepened my appreciation for how our early experiences, relationships, and environments shape the ways we feel, respond, and connect with others.

My focus now is on helping individuals develop a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection and explore how it relates to their experiences of anxiety, depression, and chronic pain & illness. I’m interested in helping you notice how emotions, stress, and physical sensations influence one another and approach those experiences with curiosity and compassion. Additionally, I support my clients with somatic nervous system regulation tools.

My hope is to help you feel more connected to yourself, develop a greater sense of safety within your body, and begin to unlearn the emotional and nervous system patterns that may be contributing to chronic pain, illness, and the lingering effects of trauma.

I’m drawn to trauma informed, experiential and somatic approaches that help us explore what you’re feeling in the moment, alongside talking through your experiences.

Why I Became A Therapist

I became a therapist because I’m interested in people’s stories, how our experiences shape us, how we make sense of them, and what helps us move forward. I know how much it can matter to have someone listen with care and curiosity.

My own experiences as a partner, parent, and person navigating life’s challenges inform the compassion I bring to this work. I believe we can be capable and resilient while still needing support. I want to offer a space where both can be true.

Outside of Therapy

Outside of therapy, I’m a wife and mom of three, often balancing family life with homeschooling, soccer, and theater activities. I enjoy hot yoga and sculpt classes, gardening, and a good strong cup of coffee.

My interest in horses and my daughter’s obsession with them has led me to pursue training in equine-assisted psychotherapy. I’ve also completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, which deepened my interest in the mind-body connection. Both experiences have helped me appreciate the connection and learning that can happen when we step beyond conversation and into experience.
